The Reality of Covid-19 and its Effect on the Energy Sector and the Economy.

We, the government of Trinidad and Tobago think it is necessary to bring you up to date on the continued negative effects of Covid-19 on the Trinidad and Tobago economy.

In this respect, Trinidad and Tobago is no different to any other country in the world. In particular, like all oil and gas based economies, Covid-19 has hit us hard. The official budget estimate of revenue for the period October 1, 2020 to January 31, 2021, i.e. the first 4 months of the fiscal year, was based on all available information at the end of September 2020 and was $13.823 billion.
